Guminsky: Parliaments of Belarus and Estonia should encourage the governments to closer cooperation

MINSK, 7 December (BelTA) – The parliaments of Belarus and Estonia should encourage the governments of the two countries to closer cooperation, Vice Speaker of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus Viktor Guminsky said as he met with a parliamentary delegation from Estonia on 7 December, BelTA informs.

“Parliamentary interaction between our countries has been developing despite any situation. It would have been even more successful if we encouraged our governments and other stakeholders to closer cooperation, if we were the initiators in the development of trade and economic relations, their strengthening,” said Viktor Guminsky.

In 2011 it totaled $650 million. In January-September 2015 it was only $84.4 million. “It cannot be satisfactory for any of the parties,” the Vice Speaker stressed.

Belarus and Estonia have been developing active parliamentary relations since 2009. “It is great as MPs are representatives of the nation,” said Viktor Guminsky. In his words, not long ago the Belarusian and Estonian people lived in one state, and the two peoples have much in common.Guminsky: Parliaments of Belarus and Estonia should encourage the governments to closer cooperation
