MINSK, 4 April (BelTA) – The talks that Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko and Russian President Vladimir Putin held in Saint Petersburg on 3 April were maximum constructive and in-depth, spokeswoman for the Belarusian President Natalia Eismont told to the STV Channel, BelTA has learned.
“The talks lasted for more than five hours. Praise should be first of all given to the President of the Russian Federation and all our Russian counterparts. Despite a complicated emotional atmosphere because of the news about the explosion in the Saint Petersburg metro, which came minutes before the meeting, the talks were maximum constructive, very detailed and, as you know, the parties managed to settle all the issues,” said the spokesperson.
She added that regular breaks were made during the meeting as the Russian President was updated on the progress made in the investigation of the terrorist attack.
