Egypt seeks cooperation with Belarus in ICT

MINSK, 1 October (BelTA) – Plans to scale up cooperation in the field of information and communication technologies were discussed at the meeting of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Egypt Sergei Rachkov with Egypt’s Minister of Communications and Information Technology Amr Talaat, BelTA has learned from the embassy.

The ambassador noted that Belarus views contacts in information and communication technologies as one of the priority avenues of bilateral cooperation. Amr Talaat, in turn, noted that Belarus boasts advanced solutions in this sector and Egypt closely follows Belarus’ achievements in this field.

The parties also discussed joint efforts to set up data processing centers and to share expertise and knowledge in creating e-government and digital economy, as well as collaboration in IT education, science and cyber security.

An agreement was reached to consider arranging a visit of an Egyptian high-level group of ICT experts to Minsk and elaborating several joint IT projects.
