MOSCOW, 8 April (BelTA) – The Eurasian Intergovernmental Council will discuss measures to ensure economic stability amid the COVID-19 pandemic. The meeting will take place in the format of a video conference on 10 April. Initially the meeting of the prime ministers of the EAEU member states was to take place in Minsk, BelTA learned from the press service of the Eurasian Economic Commission.
“There are plans to approve the measures taken in the Eurasian Economic Union to secure economic stability amid the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic. Members of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council will also discuss the preparation of strategic areas in the Eurasian economic integration through 2025,” the EEC said.
Plans are in place to consider approaches to regulating the duty-free importation of goods for personal use in international e-commerce, and also the initiative to transfer import duties in national currencies between the member states of the union.
