MINSK, 27 November (BelTA) – Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to India Vitaly Prima met with Deputy Foreign Minister of India Navtej Singh to discuss ways to intensify cooperation between businessmen of the two countries, BelTA learnt from the press service of the Foreign Ministry of Belarus.
The parties agreed on further development of contacts at various levels and expressed readiness to continue inter-parliamentary cooperation and intensify cooperation between the friendship groups in the parliaments of the two countries.
“The sides discussed ways to intensify trade and economic cooperation and interaction between businessmen of the two countries as well as cooperation in science and technology. The parties agreed to step up preparations for the next meeting of the joint Belarusian-Indian commission for sci-tech cooperation which is due in India in December,” the press service said.
Certain steps in developing business contacts have already been made. Thus, the Embassy of Belarus in India and the PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry organized an interactive session “Belarus-India: Building New Partnership in the Changing World Conditions.” Partaking in the meeting were 35 representatives of Indian companies engaged in various lines of business: investment, construction, agriculture, infrastructure development, information technology, healthcare, alternative energy, advisory services in customs matters, civil law, financial relations, tourism and agricultural supplies.
Vitaly Prima presented Belarus’ economic, industrial, sci-tech and investment potential to Indian businessmen, suggesting such forms of cooperation as investment generation, industrial cooperation, agricultural mechanization, the press service of the Foreign Ministry said.
