CIS plenipotentiaries to meet in Minsk 30 September

MINSK, 29 September (BelTA) – The CIS Plenipotentiaries Council will meet in Minsk on 30 September, BelTA learnt from the press service of the CIS Executive Committee.

The major issue for discussion will be a draft agenda for the forthcoming CIS Heads of Government Council which is due in Ashgabat on 21 November 2014.

According to the press service, the draft agenda includes about 20 issues. The documents submitted for consideration are designed for regulating further cooperation of the CIS in free trade, the peaceful use of atomic energy, exploration, use and conservation of mineral resources, price formation on the markets of oil and oil products.

The CIS Heads of Government Council will consider medium-term action plans in humanitarian cooperation and documents related to giving some institutions the status of the CIS basic organizations in written language heritage restoration and preservation, professional education in cinematography, music, culture and art, museum affairs.

The CIS legal activity issues will comprise an inventory of the CIS legal framework within the single register of legal acts and other documents of the Commonwealth of Independent States.

The draft agenda of the CIS Heads of Government Council will also include issues related to the budget and finances policy.

The second issue for consideration at the CIS Plenipotentiaries Council will be the preparation of draft documents on the implementation of the provisions of the free trade zone agreement of 18 October 2011. This year the CIS continues efforts to prepare important documents envisaged by the provisions of the agreement and aimed at further development of free trade in services, regulation of the state procurement system, reduction and gradual abolition of export duties, organization of pipeline transit.
