MINSK, 27 October (BelTA) – Ukrainian children and their parents living in Donbass thanked Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko for the opportunity to come for rehabilitation  and recuperation to the National Children's Educational and Health-Improving Center Zubrеnok. Their video address was posted by the Pul Pervogo Telegram channel, BelTA informs.

“Dear Mr Lukashenko! My name is Yulia Mikhailova, I came under mortar fire in 2015. And, having experienced the horrors of the war, I want to express my sincere gratitude to you for the care and kindness towards our children: dolphins [a figurative designation for children with special needs], orphans, children who came under fire, children who lost their parents during the war. Thank you!” one of the girls said.

The parents of these children also expressed their appreciation to Aleksandr Lukashenko. “They got to know your culture, they were surrounded by care and attention every minute. Thank you personally for your support to the children of Donbass!” one of the mothers said.

"No wonder you are called Batka, Mr Lukashenko. Thank you very much for this fatherly love that you showed to the children of Donbass! God bless you and your loved ones. And thank you for Aleksei Talai [Belarusian Paralympic champion]!” another parent added.

As it has been reported, a group of 150 children from Donetsk Oblast holidayed in the National Children's Educational and Health Center Zubrenok from 15 September to 5 October 2021. Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko signed an executive order to arrange the recuperation for Ukrainian children following a request from charity organizations.

In addition to recuperation and rehabilitation, the children from Donbass were offered an educational program and excursions to the iconic places of Belarus.
