Cambodian Premier to visit Belarus on 23-25 April

 MINSK, 28 March (BelTA) – Prime Minister of Cambodia Hun Sen is set to visit Belarus on 23-25 April, BelTA learnt from the press service of the Belarusian Foreign Ministry.

The official visit of Belarus’ Foreign Minister Vladimir Makei to the Kingdom of Cambodia concluded on 28 March. During the visit Vladimir Makei met with the Cambodian Premier. “The parties discussed a preliminary agenda of the official visit of the Cambodian Premier to Belarus on 23-25 April. The Belarusian Foreign Minister emphasized that the visit produced some tangible results – the parties reconciled cooperation projects in industry, trade, science and education,” the Foreign Ministry said.

The parties also shared views on cooperation prospects in politics, trade, economy and exchange of high-level and highest-level contacts. “Hun Sen confirmed Cambodia’s plans to expand trade and economic ties with Belarus. The Cambodian head of government praised the joint efforts to build the plant to assemble Belarusian tractors in Cambodia. He assured that he will support new joint projects will Belarus,” the press service informed.

Vladimir Makei met with the local authorities of Siem Reap Province of Cambodia to discuss interregional cooperation and ways to build up contacts in trade, education, culture and tourism.

Belarus’ business delegation and Cambodian partners signed contracts to deliver 400 tractors, tractor sets and a trial batch of Belarusian tires to Cambodia. Taking part in the signing ceremony were Deputy Industry Minister of Belarus Gennady Svidersky and MTZ Director General Vladimir Volchok.
