MINSK, 20 September (BelTA) – The first session of the Belarusian-Ukrainian demarcation commission will take place at premises of the Belarusian Foreign Ministry on 23-24 September, the press service of the Belarusian Foreign Ministry told BelTA.
The Belarusian delegation will be led by Alexander Arkhipov, Head of the Office for the State Border Delimitation and Demarcation of the State Border Committee. The Ukrainian delegation will be led by Ambassador at Large of the Foreign Ministry, representative of Ukraine for the legal documentation of the state border Leonid Osavolyuk.
Chairman of the State Border Committee of Belarus Alexander Boyechko is expected to take part in the event, too.
At the session the sides are supposed to discuss major organizational aspects of the joint commission’s operation, will determine the list of the necessary guidelines and technical documents required for the border demarcation, will set up working groups to develop them, and will also discuss the Belarusian-Ukrainian draft state border demarcation resolution.
