Belarusian State University expanding academic contacts with Turkey

MINSK, 17 September (BelTA) – Memorandums of understanding were signed between Belarusian State University (BSU) and Yasar University and Cappadocia University (Turkey), BelTA learned from the press service of BSU.

The document was signed by BSU Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs and Internationalization of Education Konstantin Kozadayev, Rector of Yasar University Mehmet Cemali Dincer and Rector of Cappadocia University Hasan Ali Karasar. The signing ceremony took place during the official visit of the BSU delegation led by Konstantin Kozadayev to Turkey.

The documents provide for the exchange of teachers and students, educational and methodological materials, joint academic publications, as well as educational and cultural events.

Yasar University was established in 2001, while Cappadocia University welcomed its first students in 2017. The universities hold high positions in Turkey’s educational rankings. Yasar University consists of several faculties, including the Faculty of Science and Letters, the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, the Faculty of Communication, the Faculty of Law, the Faculty of Art and Design, the Faculty of Architecture, the Faculty of Engineering. Cappadocia University consists of Cappadocia Vocational College, the Institute of Graduate Studies and Research, the School of Health Sciences, the Faculty of Human Sciences, the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, and the School of Applied Sciences.

Belarusian State University maintains academic contacts with ten Turkish universities, including Ankara University, Pamukkale University, Bahcesehir University, Karabuk University, Istanbul Okan University, Erciyes University, Istanbul University, Anadolu University, as well as Istanbul Medeniyet University.

Since 2001, the Faculty of International Relations of BSU has been teaching the Turkish language and running a course in Turkish Studies. Over this time, the university has trained about 90 students majoring in Turkish Studies. Turkish citizens are trained in the Belarusian-Turkish information and education centers of Belarusian State University in Antalya (since 2015) and Ankara (since 2018).
 
Twenty-seven Turkish citizens study at Belarusian State University. In 2011 the Turkish Language and Culture Center opened at this faculty.
