Belarusian PM examines MTZ, MAZ assembly projects in Turkey

MINSK, 28 August (BelTA) – Following the invitation of the Turkish side Prime Minister of Belarus Mikhail Myasnikovich took part in the ceremony to inaugurate Turkey President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on 28 August, the press service of the Belarus government told BelTA.

As part of the official events the head of the Belarusian delegation also met with foreign counterparts as well as Turkey’s top officials. Topical matters on the bilateral agenda were discussed during the conversation with Acting Prime Minister of Turkey Ahmet Davutoglu. Mikhail Myasnikovich invited his counterpart to come to Belarus on an official visit soon.

In Ankara Mikhail Myasnikovich also met with Turkmenistan President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow. The sides shared views on the joint economic and civil engineering projects, which are being implemented. The Belarusian head of government talked to Moldova President Nicolae Timofti to discuss mutual trade taking into account Moldova’s accession to the European Union’s free trade zone.

The Prime Minister of Belarus was made familiar with the progress of the projects to set up assembly enterprises for MTZ tractors and MAZ trucks. Discussion involving Turkish participants of the projects focused on prospects of offering the joint products to Middle East markets, noted the press service of the Belarus government.

The ceremony to inaugurate Turkey President Recep Tayyip Erdogan gathered heads of state and heads of government from over 40 countries.
