MINSK, 17 September (BelTA) – Deputy head of the Belarus parliament delegation for contacts with the Interparliamentary Assembly of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), Deputy Chairman of the International Affairs Commission of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus Vitaly Busko will take part in the 34^th General Assembly of the ASEAN IPA on 17-22 September. The assembly will take place in the city of Bandar Seri Begawan in Brunei Darussalam, the press service of the lower chamber of the Belarus parliament told BelTA.

Vitaly Busko will make a speech at the plenary session of the ASEAN IPA General Assembly as a contributor. He will take part in meetings with the ASEAN IPA Chairman, the speaker of the Legislative Council of Brunei, and representatives of delegations of ASEAN IPA member states. The sides are expected to discuss topical aspects of Belarus’ bilateral relations with ASEAN countries, plans to advance cooperation between parliamentary working groups, and the schedule for exchanging visits in 2014, the press service of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly told BelTA.

Apart from that, Vitaly Busko will hold several bilateral meetings with parliamentarians from ASEAN countries.

The Belarus parliament was granted the observer status in the ASEAN Interparliamentary Assembly in 2011. The participation of Belarus parliament delegations in ASEAN IPA work on a yearly basis contributes to stronger friendly relations between Belarus and Southeast Asia countries.
