Belarusian MP meets with presidents of Zimbabwe, Mozambique, Sri Lanka, Switzerland in South Africa

MINSK, 11 December (BelTA) – Deputy Chairman of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus Viktor Guminsky met with the presidents of a number of countries while in South Africa, the press service of the lower chamber of the Belarus parliament told BelTA.

Viktor Guminsky talked to the presidents of Zimbabwe, Mozambique, Sri Lanka, Switzerland, Chairwoman of the African Union Commission Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma, representatives of the governments of Indonesia, China, Ukraine and several other countries.

The Belarusian delegation led by Viktor Guminsky as well as delegations of other countries were in South Africa to take part in the mourning over the demise of former South Africa president Nelson Mandela. The mourning events took place in the cities of Johannesburg and Pretoria. Over 90 heads of state and government of various countries took part in the mourning events.

Viktor Guminsky left a note in the book of condolence for foreign dignitaries. Apart from that, he presented his condolence personally to South Africa Minister for International Relations and Cooperation Maite Nkoana-Mashabane and to Nelson Mandela’s family members.
