MINSK, 16 April (BelTA) – The Belarusian-Iranian relations are not dependent on the political trends, Belarus’ Foreign Minister Vladimir Makei said as he met with Speaker of the Islamic Consultative Assembly of Iran Ali Larijani, BelTA has learnt.
Vladimir Makei noted that he sincerely welcomes the Iranian guest and believes it is symbolic that today's meeting is taking place just a month after a similar meeting in Iran. "This says about intensive effort to establish political contacts and about the kind of attention we pay to the development of our relations," said Vladimir Makei.
Ali Larijani thanked the Belarusian side for the warm welcome. I am very happy that you have been working actively on the development of our relations, he said. The head of the Iranian delegation believes that the time has come the two countries launched the initiatives to strengthen the bilateral relations.
