MINSK, 6 February (BelTA) – Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Bulgaria and Cyprus (on concurrent) Vladimir Voronkovich has presented his credentials to President of Cyprus Nicos Anastasiades, BelTA learned form the press service of the Belarusian Foreign Ministry.
After the ceremony of presenting credentials the Belarusian Ambassador met with the President of Cyprus to discuss the prospects of bilateral relations in politics, trade, economy, humanitarian and other areas. In particular, the sides discussed the prospects of setting up the bilateral commission on trade and economic, scientific and technical cooperation, and the possibility to step up cooperation, first of all between foreign ministries.
Nicos Anastasiades hailed the appointment of the first Belarusian ambassador to Cyprus. He noted that the Cyprian side views this appointment as a sincere wish to develop productive relations.
