MINSK, 18 January (BelTA) – Belarus welcomes the beginning of the implementation of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) on Iran’s nuclear program signed between Iran and a group of six of international mediators (the United Kingdom, Germany, China, Russia, the United States, and France), reads a statement by the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, BelTA has learned.
Belarus supports the efforts of Iran and the international mediators to lift the sanctions imposed on the Islamic State of Iran and create a favorable international environment, the ministry said.
"We are convinced that the full implementation of the JCPOA will contribute to the strengthening of international security, non-proliferation, and will become an effective contribution to the stabilization of the situation in the region,” the statement reads.
According to the Belarusian side, the entry into force of the JCPOA clearly shows that there is no alternative to the dialogue and diplomatic means of addressing complex international problems and disputes.
The lifting of sanctions against Iran opens up new prospects for further development of the Belarusian-Iranian mutual cooperation, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus said.
