MINSK, 20 March (BelTA) - Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to the Holy See Sergei Aleinik met with Vatican Secretary of State Cardinal Tarcisio Bertone and prefect of the Congregation for the Oriental Churches Cardinal Leonardo Sandri on 20 March, BelTA learnt from the press service of the Belarusian Foreign Ministry.

The parties discussed prospects for further development of Belarusian-Vatican cooperation in various fields.

Sergei Aleinik also handed over to Tarcisio Bertone the original of the felicitation message from Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko to Pope Francis on the occasion of the beginning of his pontificate.
