MINSK, 13 September (BelTA) - An agreement on cooperation in science and technology was signed by Chairman of the Belarusian State Science and Technology Committee Alexander Shumilin and Innovation Development Minister Ibrokhim Abdurakhmonov of Uzbekistan, BelTA learned from the State Science and Technology Committee.
The document stipulates that the parties shall develop and strengthen long-term scientific cooperation in the following priority areas: energy, medicine, nano- and biotechnology, information and communication technologies, robotics, and agriculture.
Belarus and Uzbekistan also plan to implement joint scientific projects and programs, to undertake activities in scientific and technological fields.
The parties are planning to set up a joint commission on cooperation in science and technology to coordinate bilateral cooperation.
