“We have reached an agreement with the USA embassy in Minsk that we will do everything to assist the operation of the Belarusian Foreign Ministry and the U.S. Department of State,” said the Prime Minister. In his words, the possibility of somewhat increasing the number of personnel employed by the embassies, primarily consular workers, is the idea. “The possibility is being considered,” said Mikhail Myasnikovich.
The Prime Minister was asked whether visa procedures may be relaxed, particularly for representatives of the business community. Mikhail Myasnikovich remarked that there were certain problems that have to be resolved together with the USA government. He said that during his visit to New York he intends to meet with representatives of the U.S. Department of State among other items on his itinerary.
Belarusian Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Guryanov said that dealing with the relevant matters was in the area of mutual interest both for Belarus and the USA. “We have agreed to at least keep the prices for the visas issued in the bilateral format steady. The system is as streamlined as possible on the Belarusian side. In any case we are ready to offer long-term visas without any problems for specific business interests in Belarus,” said the Belarusian Deputy Foreign Minister.
