MINSK, 10 May (BelTA) - Minsk hosted the third round of the ministerial consultations on consular issues between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the United Arab Emirates, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The parties considered a whole range of issues of the Belarusian-U.A.E. cooperation and the prospects for cooperation between the consular services of the two countries.
The Belarusian delegation was headed by Deputy Minister of foreign Affairs Evgeny Shestakov; the U.A.E. delegation was led by Mohammed Al Raisi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.
Following the consultations, the parties signed a protocol on amendments and additions to the agreement between the Government of Belarus and the Government of the U.A.E. on the abolition of visas for holders of diplomatic passports of 25 April 2013 and the memorandum of understanding between the ministries of foreign affairs on the establishment of the joint committee on consular affairs.
The head of the U.A.E. delegation was received by Belarus’ Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Makei. “The parties discussed the status and prospects for development of bilateral cooperation and the ways of bolstering trade and economic ties,” the press service informed.
