MINSK, 18 September (BelTA) – Belarus intends to step up participation in projects of the Central European Initiative, representatives of the Belarusian Foreign Ministry told BelTA.
This matter and other ones were discussed at the meeting of Belarusian Deputy Foreign Minister Yelena Kupchina, CEI Alternate Secretary General Margit Waestfelt and CEI Deputy Secretary General Erik Csernovitz on 17 September. The sides discussed prospects of advancing Belarus-CEI cooperation in applied areas of mutual interest.
The sides exchanged opinions regarding consequent steps meant to bolster the CEI role as a link between different integration processes in the region, including the European Union’s Eastern Partnership Initiative. The sides spoke in positive terms about the joint seminar on the relevant matters that took place at premises of the Belarusian State University on 16 September.
