MINSK, 2 December (BelTA) – A Belarusian delegation is expected to take part in the 23rd meeting of the UN Commission on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice and the 57th session of the UN Office on Drugs and Crime that are scheduled in Vienna, Austria on 3-5 December, BelTA learnt from the press service of the Belarusian Foreign Ministry.
The Belarusian delegation will comprise head of the main department for multilateral diplomacy of the Foreign Ministry Yuri Ambrazevich, representatives of the main department on drugs control and human trafficking counteraction under the Interior Ministry, Belarus’ permanent representation in international organizations in Vienna.
The two commissions will work out comprehensive guidelines for UNODS strategic management administrative and budget matters during a joint meeting, then continue considering their agendas.
The Belarusian delegation will also hold a number of meetings with representatives of the UNODS subdivisions and delegations of member states to discuss cooperation issues, including the implementation of Belarus-initiated UN Global Plan of Action to Combat Trafficking in Persons.
Some meetings of the UN Commission on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice and UN Office on Drugs and Crime will highlight the preparations for the central events of the forthcoming biennium in prevention of crime and counteraction against illegal drug trafficking.
