Belarus to open consulate in Liechtenstein

MINSK, 14 November (BelTA) – Belarus is set to open an honorary consulate in Liechtenstein. The consulate will be headed by Baron Timothy von Landskron, a grandson of Prince Albrecht von Liechtenstein, BelTA learned from Belarusian embassy in Switzerland.

Baron Timothy von Landskron received the exequatur on behalf of the head of government and the Crown Prince of Liechtenstein in Vaduz on 12 November. Earlier, the order on his appointment was signed by Belarus’ Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Makei.

Baron Timothy von Landskron is the first member of the reigning monarchy who will represent Belarus’ interests abroad.

The official opening ceremony of the honorary consulate in Schaan is scheduled for January 2020.

“The opening of the honorary consulate in Schaan is a historic event for the relations between Belarus and Liechtenstein. The move will promote cooperation in various areas. For Belarusian nationals the honorary consulate in Schaan is an additional address where they can get first aid and support abroad” the embassy said.
