MINSK, 4 October (BelTA) – Belarus and Sudan discuss ways to establish cooperation in power engineering, representatives of the Belarusian diplomatic mission to Egypt with concurrent accreditation to Sudan told BelTA.
Ways to establish cooperation in power engineering were in the center of attention as a Belarusian delegation led by Energy Minister Vladimir Potupchik is visiting Sudan on 3-5 October. The delegation includes representatives of the Belarusian state petrochemical concern Belneftekhim, the national electrical company Belenergo, the natural gas distributor Beltopgaz, and the power grid design, operation, and repair companies Belenergosetproect, Belnipienergoprom, and Belenergoremnaladka. The visit has been organized with assistance of the embassy of Belarus in Egypt with concurrent accreditation to Sudan.
The Belarusian energy minister is expected to meet with the prime minister, the ministers of oil and gas, water resources, irrigation, electrification and other high-ranking representatives of the Sudanese government. Apart from that, the Belarusian delegation will meet with representatives of major Sudanese companies to discuss the launch of joint projects in the sphere of the construction of power plants, cogeneration plants, power lines, the maintenance of power grids, the prospecting, extraction, and processing of oil, the development of a gas field.
