Belarus, Serbia sign agreement on defense cooperation
MINSK, 11 November (BelTA) – Belarus and Serbia signed an intergovernmental agreement on cooperation in the defense sector. The document was signed by Defense Minister of Belarus Yuri Zhadobin and Defense Minister of Serbia Bratislav Gasic in Minsk on 10 November, BelTA learnt from the Defense Ministry of Belarus.
The two ministers discussed the prospects of bilateral military cooperation. In particular, the parties talked over the preparations for participation in peacekeeping efforts, military, economic, sci-tech cooperation, collaboration in military education and military medicine.
The official visit of the military delegation of Serbia to Belarus will last through 12 November. On 11 November the Serbian delegation is expected to get familiar with the academic activity and the physical infrastructure of the Military Academy of Belarus. The program of the visit envisages a wreath laying ceremony at the Victory Memorial and a visit to the Belarusian State Museum of the History of the Great Patriotic War.
