According to the Justice Ministry, the Hague Conference on Private International Law is the authoritative international organization which promotes cross-border cooperation between states in the matters of civil and commercial law.
The parties also discussed the development of a system of compulsory execution of court rulings. This was of particular interest to the Belarusian side, as recently Belarus conducted a reform that marked the beginning of the development of the unified enforcement system. The parties signed a relevant arrangement and also outlined the plans for the further development of bilateral cooperation in the field of justice.
St. Petersburg hosted a session of the CIS Council of Justice Ministers. Along with the delegation of Belarus it was attended by representatives of the justice ministries of Armenia, Kyrgyzstan, Russia and Tajikistan. Kazakhstan’s Justice Ministry was invited to attend in the capacity of observer. It was proposed to consider the possibility of becoming the sixth member of this council.
The meeting participants discussed the issues related to the notaries in the CIS member states. The participants shared their experience in the field of compulsory legal review of departmental legal acts and the provision of public legal services online. "The meeting participants noted with satisfaction that such meetings are an effective format of cooperation, which contributes to the improvement of the legal policies of the CIS countries," the Belarusian Justice Ministry said.
