Belarus ready to step up cooperation with Croatia

MINSK, 27 March (BelTA) - Belarus is ready to step up bilateral cooperation with Croatia, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Austria and Croatia Alena Kupchyna said during a meeting with Croatian President Kolinda Grabar-Kitarovic, senior officials of the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs and MPs, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Alena Kupchyna presented her credentials to Croatia President Kolinda Grabar-Kitarovic in Zagreb on 27 March. “During the meeting the parties discussed the status and prospects of Belarus-Croatia cooperation, in particular in the context of the 25th anniversary of Belarus-Croatia diplomatic relations. The parties also touched upon several topical issues of the international and regional agenda,” the press service noted.

The Belarusian Ambassador met with State Secretary of the Croatian Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs Zdravka Busic, Assistant Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Gordan Bakota, Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Foreign Affairs Miro Kovac, his deputy Josko Klisovic and Chairman of the Croatia-Belarus Inter-Parliamentary Friendship Group Ivan Pernar.

“The parties talked over the topical issues of Belarus-Croatia relations in various fields, Belarus-EU dialogue, and cooperation in the OSCE. Alena Kupchyna underlined that Belarus is ready to boost cooperation with Croatia and intensify dialogue with the EU. She also put special focus on the Belarusian efforts to maintain regional security and stability,” the press service remarked.
