MINSK, 12 December (BelTA) – Belarus is ready to develop cooperation with Pakistan and Afghanistan, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko stated while receiving the credentials from the ambassadors of Pakistan and Afghanistan on 12 December, BelTA has learned.
“We do not set any pre-conditions. We are ready to cooperate with Pakistan, which is a powerful country, as it is, and with Afghanistan as it is,” the Belarusian head of state said.
According to Alexander Lukashenko, Belarus is ready to offer a whole range of services. The Belarusian leader is confident that the bilateral cooperation will be mutually beneficial.
The President stressed that Belarus attaches great significance to the development of bilateral relations with Pakistan that plays an important role in the Muslim world. According to the Belarusian head of state, the decision to open the Belarusian Embassy in Islamabad was a step towards closer bilateral cooperation. “We are prepared to support the proposal to set up the Pakistani diplomatic mission in our country,” the Belarusian leader stressed.
“We sincerely hope that the situation in Afghanistan will stabilize,” Alexander Lukashenko said addressing the Ambassador of Afghanistan to Belarus. “Belarus supports social consolidation, national reconciliation and territorial integrity of Afghanistan,” he added. In his words, Belarus is open for bilateral cooperation.
