Belarus ratifies visa abolition agreement with Israel

MINSK, 18 December (BelTA) – The Belarusian senators approved the ratification of the Belarus-Israel intergovernmental agreement on the abolition of visa requirements for the holders of national passports on 18 December, BelTA has learned.

The agreement was signed in Minsk in September 2014. It is aimed at the all-round development of the Belarus-Israel relations. The document states that the citizens of Belarus and Israel who are the holders of valid national passports are able to enter and leave the territory of the other state without visa during a period of up to 90 days within six months from the date of first entry.

The Council of the Republic also approved the ratification of the agreement between the governments of Belarus and Brazil on the abolition of visas for short-term visits. According to the agreement, citizens of Belarus and Brazil who have valid documents for travel abroad can enter, depart, transit and stay in the other country without visas. Yet the total period of stay during one calendar year shall not exceed 90 days from the date of first entry.

Besides, the senators approved the ratification of the intergovernmental agreement between Belarus and Ecuador on mutual abolition of visas. The document envisages that Belarusian and Ecuadorian nationals holding valid travel documents no longer need to obtain visas for entry, exit and transit across the territory of the other state, provided that the duration of uninterrupted stay does not exceed 30 days from the date of entry. The total duration of stay shall not exceed 90 days in one calendar year.
