MINSK, 7 April (BelTA) - At the plenary meeting of the 214th session of the UNESCO Executive Board the Belarusian delegation expressed concern about the unacceptable incitement of hatred and discrimination against Belarusians, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

In his speech, Deputy Permanent Representative of Belarus to UNESCO Kirill Grushevsky emphasized the issues of principle for Belarus in the activities of the organization: elimination of politicization, UNESCO’s operation exclusively within its mandate, fight against disinformation and fake news.

“The Belarusian side urged to seek solutions to conflicts at the specially created international platforms and within the framework of negotiation processes. The Belarusian delegation noted its concern over the unacceptable incitement of hatred and discrimination against Belarusians, including in the areas of culture, sports, science and education,” the ministry said.
