Belarus President to preside over Minsk summits on 10 October

MINSK, 10 October (BelTA) – Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko will preside over the meetings of the CIS Heads of State Council, the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council and the Interstate Council of the Eurasian Economic Community in Minsk on 10 October, BelTA learnt from the presidential press service.

Alexander Lukashenko is expected to hold bilateral meetings with foreign leaders.

The agenda of the CIS Heads of State Council summit will include 17 issues regarding political, humanitarian, and security cooperation.

At the meeting of the Interstate Council of the Eurasian Economic Community the Presidents of five member states are expected to sign an agreement on cessation of the EurAsEC activity.

At the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council meeting the heads of state will discuss the agreement on Armenia’s accession to the Eurasian Economic Union Treaty and a roadmap on Kyrgyzstan’s joining to the Single Economic Space of Belarus, Kazakhstan and Russia taking into account the development of the Eurasian Economic Union. The summiteers will talk over the Eurasian Economic Commission cooperation with third countries, integration associations and international organizations. Besides, the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council plans to approve the provision on the Council’s symbols and budget as well as a number of organizational issues related to the activity of the organization and its working bodies.
