Belarus, Peru to intensify contacts

MINSK, 2 October (BelTA) – Belarus and Peru are set to step up the bilateral cooperation. The matter was discussed during the visit of Deputy Foreign Minister of Belarus Alexander Guryanov to Peru, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Foreign Ministry.

Alexander Guryanov met with Deputy Foreign Minister of Peru Claudio de la Puente to exchange views on a broad range of issues of the global and regional agenda. The parties also discussed ways to boost the Belarus-Peru relations and expand cooperation in trade, economy, science and technologies, and education and to improve the legal framework. They believe that the two countries need to engage in an all-round dialogue, including within the framework of international organizations. After the meeting Alexander Guryanov and Claudio de la Puente signed a memorandum on ministerial consultations.

Alexander Guryanov met with representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism to discuss the trade and economic contacts between Belarus and Peru. The officials deem it necessary to sign fundamental economic documents and set up a business cooperation commission. The parties agreed to provide all kinds of assistance to Belarusian and Peruvian companies that want to establish direct contacts, and to exchange business visits and take part in exhibitions.

Alexander Guryanov also visited the national mining, oil and energy company SNMPE and the confederation of private companies CONFIEP to discuss the promotion of Belarusian quarry machines and other equipment on the Peruvian market and cooperation with the Peruvian business in general.
