Belarus open for partner relations based on respect

MINSK, 20 September (BelTA) – Belarus is open for mutually beneficial partnership based on respect between states and peoples, Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko made this statement as he received credentials from foreign ambassadors on 20 September.

“Those who share this view can always rely on our support and understanding in all their plans and aspirations,” the President said.

“I am happy to welcome you on the Belarusian soil which has been famous for its hospitality, hard-working and tolerant people. You will discover a country with a rich history and unique cultural heritage,” the head of state said.

Alexander Lukashenko emphasized that Belarus consistently defended its right for its own development path during the years of hardest ordeals and in peaceful times. He said that Belarus is confident about the future. “Over a relatively short time since obtaining independence we have achieved a lot,” the President said. He added that peacefulness, a multi-vector policy, pragmatism and consistency are the pillars of Belarus’ foreign policy.

There are no unimportant countries or regions, the President said. “We are ready for closest and most intensive cooperation with any of our foreign partners no matter how far they are. What matters most is mutual understanding and determination for fruitful cooperation,” the Belarusian leader said.
