Belarus, Nigeria sign Memorandum of Understanding

MINSK, 30 July (BelTA) – Belarus’ Foreign Minister Vladimir Makei met with a delegation of the Federal Republic of Nigeria led by Viola Onwuliri, First State Minister of Foreign Affairs, on 30 July, BelTA has learnt.

Vladimir Makei and Viola Onwuliri signed a Memorandum of Understanding between the Government of the Republic of Belarus and the Government of the Federal Republic of Nigeria on bilateral consultations. Vladimir Makei and Viola Onwuliri also held talks.

The Belarusian Foreign Minister noted that the visit of the Nigerian delegation is expected to give an impetus to the bilateral relations. Vladimir Makei expressed hope that the visit will be fruitful. Nigeria plays an important role in West Africa and is a regional economic power. Belarus is interested in expanding all-round cooperation with this country.

Viola Onwuliri thanked the Belarusian side for hospitality. She noted that she really liked the capital city.

The Nigerian delegation will stay in Belarus until 31 July. The delegation is expected to visit MAZ and MTZ. The delegation is set to hold talks with top executives of these companies.
