Belarus MPs to meet with Latvian counterparts, businessmen in Riga

MINSK, 12 June (BelTA) – A parliamentary delegation of Belarus will pay a working visit to Riga on 15-18 June, BelTA learnt from the press service of the House of Representatives.

The delegation will comprise member of the House of Representatives’ permanent commission on budget and finances, member of the Belarus’ National Assembly working group on cooperation with the parliament of Latvia Valery Borodenya. The Council of the Republic will be represented by Chairman of the permanent commission on regional policy and local administration Svetlana Gerasimovich that heads the group on cooperation with the Latvian parliament.

The visit will comprise meetings with representatives of the deputy group of the parliament of Latvia on cooperation with the parliament of Belarus, Latvia’s governmental permanent commission on administration and self-government, the Chairman of the Jurmala Duma, representatives of the Latvian Investment and Development Agency, the joint-stock companies Laima and Dzintars.

Besides, the House of Representatives’ permanent commission on the housing policy and construction will hold an onsite meeting in Ivatsevichi and Bereza Districts on 12-13 June. The MPs are expected to discuss the administration of legislation in the construction and utilities sectors.

The participants of the meeting are set to study the issues related to the optimization of management in the utilities, liquidation of cross-subsidization, domestic waste recovery, application of new water supply technologies, many more. MPs study these aspects by the example of the cities of Ivatsevichi, Beloozersk and Bereza.

MPs will also consider amendments to the law concerning burial and funeral business. The bill on the amendments was passed in the first reading in April 2014.
