MINSK, 16 October (BelTA) – The Belarusian-Israeli intergovernmental agreement on the abolition of visas will enter into force in 90 days after the two sides finish the process of ratification, not after the signing of the document, Spokesman for the Belarusian Foreign Ministry Dmitry Mironchik told BelTA at a press briefing on 16 October.
The agreement was signed in Minsk on 19 September. “In line with the document, first of all, the sides have to conduct domestic procedures needed for the enactment of the agreement. For the Belarusian side it means the adoption of the ratification law by the National Assembly. According to the available information, the parliament of Israel will also need to harmonize the agreement,” Dmitry Mironchik stressed.
He said that Belarus and Israel do their best to finalize these procedures as soon as possible due to the high importance of the abolition of visas for the citizens of the two countries.
