Belarus, Indonesia sign a set of cooperation agreements

JAKARTA, 19 March (BelTA) – Belarus and Indonesia have signed a package of documents aimed at intensifying the bilateral cooperation. Seven documents were inked in a ceremony attended by President of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko and his Indonesian counterpart Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono on 19 March, BelTA has learnt.

The sides signed a protocol to the intergovernmental agreement on economic and technical cooperation.

They also concluded intergovernmental agreements to expand cooperation in science and technologies, defense industry, as well as the agreement to avoid double taxation.

The Emergencies Ministry of Belarus and the National Disaster Management Agency of Indonesia signed a memorandum of understanding to boost cooperation in emergency response and mitigation. The Justice Ministry of Belarus and the Justice and Human Rights Ministry of Indonesia concluded a memorandum of understanding to cooperate in the legal field. A memorandum of cooperation in agriculture was also signed.

A memorandum of understanding in innovations was signed by the technological cluster Politekhnik of the Belarusian National Technical University and the Indonesian Institute of Sciences.
