MINSK, 18 September (BelTA) – Belarus and Egypt are interested in intensifying their cooperation, BelTA learned from Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Egypt Sergei Rachkov on 18 September.
The diplomat noted: “Both countries are interested in intensifying their cooperation. There are factors that have influenced the interest. Political stabilization is now in progress in Egypt. And political stabilization contributes to the invigoration of the economy”.
According to Sergei Rachkov, at present Belarus exports over 50 commodity titles to Egypt. The number includes tractors as well as sophisticated technology products, machine tools, trucks made by Minsk Automobile Plant (MAZ trademark), products made by the Belarusian petrochemical concern Belneftekhim and Belarusian Steel Works (BMZ trademark).
“By the way, this year the share of BMZ products in Belarus’ export to this market has been considerable. But we are interested in promoting new products, too. While it is difficult to sell dairy products to Egypt, the competition is high and the prices are lower than those our manufacturers offer, Egyptians now buy Belarusian quark cheese,” said the Ambassador.
