Belarus, Ecuador hold political consultations in Quito

MINSK, 13 February (BelTA) – The Foreign Ministries of Belarus and Ecuador held a series of political consultations in Quito, the Foreign Ministry of Belarus told BelTA following the second meeting of the Belarusian-Ecuadorian commission on trade and economic cooperation on 10-12 February.

The Belarusian delegation was led by Vice Premier Vladimir Semashko, the Ecuadorian delegation was headed by Richard Espinosa, Coordinating Minister of Production, Employment and Competitiveness.

The head of the Belarusian delegation met with Foreign Minister of Ecuador Ricardo Patino on 10 February. “The parties discussed the state and prospects of bilateral relations and all-round cooperation, including the issues of further strengthening of the interstate dialogue at the high and highest levels,” the Foreign Ministry said.

On 11 February Quito hosted a meeting of the joint working groups on industry, construction, public transport, oil, energy, science and technology, education, healthcare. “Agreements were reached on the implementation of concrete cooperation projects,” the press service said.

The Belarusian delegation comprised representatives of the Foreign Ministry, the Industry Ministry, the State Science and Technology Committee, the Belarusian Embassy in Ecuador, managers of Belzarubezhstroi, Belarusneft, Zapadelektrosetstroi, Stadler Minsk, Gaz Institute.
