Belarus discusses cooperation prospects with Bosnia and Herzegovina

SARAJEVO, 13 December (BelTA) – Belarus Prime Minister Andrei Kobyakov met with Chairman of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina Denis Zvizdic in Sarajevo on 13 December.

The parties discussed the prospects of bilateral cooperation, the implementation of joint projects and Belarus’ forthcoming presidency in the Central European Initiative (CEI) in 2017.

In 2015 the trade between Belarus and Bosnia and Herzegovina totaled $67.9 million, which is almost three times up from the previous year. The export contracted by 61.2% to $5.6 million. The import increased to $62.3 million. Belarus posted a trade deficit of $56.7 million. Belarus’ main imports to Bosnia and Herzegovina include BelAZ trucks, tyres, truck and tractor parts, pumps. Belarus imports fruit and vegetables, centrifugals, clothes and footwear. In January-October 2016 the Belarusian exports to Bosnia and Herzegovina reached $3.29 million, down 24% in comparison with the same period last year. The imports reduced to $1.29 million.
