MINSK, 6 November (BelTA) – The Belarusian delegation led by Deputy Foreign Minister of Belarus Valentin Rybakov paid a visit to the Syrian Arab Republic, Spokesman for the Belarusian Foreign Ministry Dmitry Mironchik told a press briefing on 6 November, BelTA has learned.
The Belarusian-Syrian political consultations were held in Damascus. “The sides discussed ways to expand the legal framework of cooperation, mutual support in international organizations, the situation in Syria and the region, other issues on the international agenda,” Dmitry Mironchik said.
The sides shared opinions on the current state of affairs and measures to ramp up all-round relations between Belarus and Syria, including trade and economic ties.
Apart from that, the head of the Belarusian delegation met with Syrian Prime Minister Wael al-Halqi, ministers of foreign affairs, economy and foreign trade, defense, industry.
