Andrei Andreyev expressed hope that the Consulate General’s assistance will help the university, including Belarusian students that study in the ECNU, return to the normal educational process soon,” the consulate noted.

The parties reaffirmed mutual interest in advancing cooperation between the ECNU and Belarusian universities and implementing projects in science and education. Andrei Andreyev got familiar with the online education process introduced by the university as part of the measures to prevent the coronavirus spread and stressed Belarus’ interest in studying this experience.

China’s first Center for Belarusian Studies opened at the ECNU in 2012 with active support from the Consulate General. The center is meant to popularize the Belarusian language and culture among Chinese students and promote humanitarian ties. The center features a library of Belarusian literature and an exhibition of Belarusian folk arts and culture. It regularly holds various events and campaigns timed to the most significant events in the history of the Belarusian people.
