MINSK, 2 May (BelTA) – Belarus condemned another attempt of the unconstitutional seizure of power in Venezuela to oust legitimately elected President Nicholas Marudo, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
“Such actions aggravate and destabilize the situation in the country, divide the Venezuelan society. In the modern world there should be no unconstitutional manifestations that gravely violate the foundations of democracy and the principles of humanity,” the statement runs.
The Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs is convinced that the problems facing Venezuela should be solved exclusively by peaceful means, within the legal framework and the constitution of the country. “We strongly condemn any illegal steps in this context and call on the opposition political forces for a peaceful dialogue, which is the only legitimate way to find solutions to the present situation,” the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said.
