MINSK, 24 July (BelTA) - Belarus has completed the internal proceedings for the ratification of the readmission agreement with Russia. The document was officially published on the National Legal Internet Portal on 24 July, BelTA has learned.
The agreement applies not only to citizens of Belarus and Russia but also to citizens from third countries. It regulates the return, reception and transfer of foreign nationals and stateless persons who stay on the territory of the parties in violation of the rules of entry and stay.
It is provided that the costs associated with readmission of third-country nationals and stateless persons staying in the territory of Belarus in violation of the law and also the costs associated with the transit of these people to third countries through Russia without transit visas will be financed from the national budget (from the funds for the maintenance of the competent authorities responsible for implementation of the agreement).
Belarus has signed such agreements with Kazakhstan and Turkey. The agreement with the latter is already in effect. In addition, Belarus practically agreed on the text of the agreement on readmission with the EU.
