Belarus, Brazil ink agreement to lift visa requirements for short visits

MINSK, 15 November (BelTA) – An agreement between the governments of Belarus and Brazil on removing visa requirements for short-term trips of citizens was signed as a Belarusian delegation visited Brazil, the press service of the Belarusian Foreign Ministry told BelTA.

The agreement will come into force 90 days after it has been ratified by the parliaments of Belarus and Brazil and after all the necessary intrastate procedures have been completed.

Apart from that, the Belarusian delegation met with representatives of the business circles of Brazil in Sao Paulo on 14 November.

At the meeting with Brazilian businessmen in the Federation of Industries of the State of Sao Paulo Belarusian Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Guryanov held a presentation of the economic potential of Belarus and presented information about opportunities and avenues for the development of the bilateral mutually beneficial cooperation.

At the meeting at premises of one of the largest trading companies Comexport the Brazilian side expressed interest in advancing cooperation with Belarus for the sake of supplying fertilizers, agricultural and heavy-duty machines to Brazil.

As the final part of the visit the Belarusian delegation intends to get familiar with the operation of agricultural enterprises in Brazil.
