MINSK, 1 March (BelTA) - A Belarusian delegation is taking part in international events in the city of Nairobi, Kenya, BelTA learned from the Belarusian diplomatic mission.
“On 28 February-4 March 2022 Nairobi is hosting the fifth session of the United Nations Environment Assembly (UNEA-5.2) and a special session of the Assembly marking the 50th anniversary of the United Nations Environment Programme,” the statement reads.
The theme of the Assembly’s fifth session is Strengthening Actions for Nature to Achieve the Sustainable Development Goals. The session is set to consider a number of important initiatives aimed at solving environmental problems.
The Belarusian delegation consisting of the Minister of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection Andrei Khudyk, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Kenya - Permanent Representative of the Republic of Belarus to UNEP Pavel Vzyatkin, and representatives of the embassy and the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection of Belarus is taking part in these international events in virtual and in-person formats.
