MINSK, 3 December (BelTA) – Belarus’ Permanent Representative to the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) Nikolai Borisevich spoke at the 20th session of the Conference of the States Parties to the Chemical Weapons Convention (CWC) to inform its participants about the fulfillment by Belarus of its obligations under the Chemical Weapons Convention, BelTA learned from the press service of the Minsitry of Foreign Affairs.
Belarus’ permanent representative attended the general debate and voiced Belarus’ national position on key issues on the agenda of the conference.
On Belarus’ initiative, an information booth dedicated to the opening of the OPCW Regional Training Center at the Institute for Retraining and Professional Development at Belarus’ Emergencies Ministry was set up at the conference. The center was opened in June 2015 as part of the agreements reached during the meeting between the Belaruian President and the OPCW Director General in May 2014.
The 20th session of the Conference of the States Parties to the Chemical Weapons Convention (CWC) will be running in The Hague (Netherlands) until 4 December.
