Belarus, Andorra seek tourism cooperation

MINSK, 31 March (BelTA) – Belarus has handed the draft bilateral agreement on tourism cooperation to the Kingdom of Andorra, BelTA learnt from the Embassy of Belarus in France.

Cooperation issues between Belarus and the Kingdom of Andorra which established diplomatic relations in 2011 were considered during a working visit of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to France Pavel Latushko to Andorra on 31 March. While in Andorra, Pavel Latushko met with Minister of Foreign Affairs Gilbert Saboya Sunye. The parties expressed mutual interest in developing bilateral relations in the economy, culture, tourism and other spheres. The diplomat invited representatives of Andorra’s travel business to partake in Belarusian tourism exhibitions. Andorra’s experience in the sector will be very useful for Belarus, taking into account the fact that Andorra welcomes about 10 million tourists every year.

Pavel Latushko also met with Culture Minister of the Kingdom of Andorra Albert Esteve Garcia to exchange opinions on possible cooperation areas in the culture of the two countries. The parties agreed to work out a possibility of organizing an exhibition of Belarus’ contemporary visual art in Andorra and the participation of representatives of Andorra’s cultural sector in Belarusian festivals. At the invitation of Andorra, the parties are working on the participation of one of Belarusian artists in the international plein air Art Camp which is due in the capital of Andorra in 2014.

At the meeting with President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Andorra Marc Pantebre the parties talked over an opportunity of organizing a presentation of trade and economic cooperation with Belarus for businessmen of Andorra. About 5,500 companies are members of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Andorra.

Pavel Latushko held meetings with representatives of several consulting and financial companies of Andorra to discuss the prospects of establishing investment cooperation with Belarus.
