Belarus Ambassador presents credentials to Nepal President

MINSK, 5 September (BelTA) – Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to India with concurrent accreditation to Sri Lanka and Bangladesh Vitaly Prima presented credentials to President of Nepal Ram Baran Yadav on 4 September, BelTA learnt from the press service of the Belarusian Foreign Ministry.

During the talks after the official ceremony the parties took note of a considerable potential in the Belarusian-Nepalese relations, stressed the readiness for close cooperation in political, trade, economic, cultural and educational sectors. They also confirmed the need to intensify and develop ties between the business circles of the two countries. Following the meeting the Belarusian diplomat signed the book of guests of the President of Nepal.

While in Nepal, Vitaly Prima met with Minister of Foreign Affairs of Nepal Mahendra Bahadur Pandey and Acting Foreign Secretary Shanker Das Bairagi. The parties discussed the current bilateral relations and promising areas of cooperation with a focus on trade and economic sphere. The parties agreed on the need to boost Belarusian-Nepalese relations, including cooperation in international organizations and development of the legal framework.

The Belarusian Ambassador also met with Minister of Education of Nepal Chitra Lekha Yadav to discuss cooperation in education and ways to use Belarus’ scientific and educational base to train personnel for Nepal’s national economy.
