MOSCOW, 26 December (BelTA) – Speaker of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus Vladimir Andreichenko has been re-elected as First Deputy Chairman of the Belarus-Russia Union State Parliamentary Assembly. The election was held as part of the session of the Union State PA in Moscow on 26 December, BelTA has learned.
Speaker of Russia’s State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin, who was elected Chairman of the Union State PA at the same session, noted that Vladimir Andreichenko is one of the most experienced Belarusian MPs. “Vladimir Andreichenko has been a member of the Parliamentary Assembly since 2008. For all this time, he has been holding the position of the First Deputy Chairman of Union State PA,” Vyacheslav Volodin noted.
Vice Speaker of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of Belarus Marianna Shchetkina, Chairman of the Permanent Commission for International Affairs of the House of Representatives Valery Voronetsky, and First Vice Speaker of the State Duma Ivan Melnikov were elected as Deputy Chairpersons of the Union State Parliamentary Assembly.
